The Ultimate Bake Box was my first letterbox friendly invention & is my best seller by far. Guaranteed to bring a smile because this totally original super selection box is for the cake connoisseur! The Ultimate Bake Box is the perfect letterbox friendly treat or gift for a loved one – and adding your own personal message on the tag is easy. Each slice is individually hand wrapped and tied with raffia. Really unique and once sampled, never forgotten. Imagine afternoon tea cakes, choc box style, in one nifty package.
Nine tasty slices of at least six complementing varieties so everyone can find a favourite.
The Mix:
- Kent Rhubarb & Apple Cake (vegetarian, dairy free)
- Bakewell Sandwich with Homemade Bramble Jam (vegetarian, dairy free)
- Lemon & Lime Drizzle (vegetarian, dairy free)
- Gran’s Shortbread (vegan)
- Traditional Flapjack (vegan, wheat free)
- Chocolate Brownie (vegan, gluten free)
Presentation
Rustic mail-safe box and gift tag ‘Enjoy!’ with sender’s details on reverse. Or include your own message in the the Order Notes box at the checkout to make it even more special.
Six cake slices each approx 11x4x2cm
Three bake slices each approx 4x4x1.5cm
Due to demand, different but equally delicious varieties may occasionally be substituted.
Ethics
I try to be as ethical as possible in life and baking & there’s more info on my ethics page. My packaging is recycled & recyclable and, like the ingredients, mostly made in Britain. Even the cello wraps can be composted with food waste. The only animal product used are my friend Elaine’s very free range eggs from her beloved rescued chickens fed on an organic diet.
Delivery
Some of the cakes in this bake box have a 4 day freshness window so it isn’t posted over the weekend. Order by 10am Mon-Thurs & it will be dispatched that day for delivery next day/day after. Later Thurs, Fri & wkend orders will be posted Mondays for delivery Tues/Wed. Most of my other products are longer life and can also be posted on a Friday for delivery Sat/Mon.
I post Royal Mail First Class: usually 1 day/occasionally 2 day delivery. Specified delivery date? I’ll do my best for arrival on or the nearest possible date before. Use the Order Notes box at the checkout for delivery date, messages and any variety swaps. Alternatively email me (Lou) with your info & order number info@sendmecakes.co.uk.
If you wish to send multiple bake boxes for your whole year’s birthday list, groups/or thank yous, it’s easy! Just place one order with the number you require using your billing address as the shipping address and email info@sendmecakes.co.uk a list of your recipient’s postal details/ dates/ your personal message/s etc.
Use by
Baked fresh by me without preservatives, so store covered out of the sun & eat sponges within 4 days of dispatch & bakes within 2 weeks. Can also be perfectly frozen in their packaging for a future treat.

Kent Rhubarb & Apple Cake : Kent rhubarb & apples, wheat flour, sugar, eggs, vegetable (rapeseed) oil, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger
Bakewell Sandwich with Homemade Bramble Jam: wheat flour, sugar, eggs, carrots, vegetable (rapeseed) oil, baking powder, almond extract. Jam: Kent blackberries & apples, sugar
Lemon & Lime Drizzle: sugar, wheat flour, eggs, vegetable (rapeseed) oil, carrots, lemons & limes, baking powder
Gran’s Shortbread: wheat flour, Flora*, cornflour, sugar
Traditional Flapjack: oats, Flora*, sugar, syrup
Chocolate Brownie: sugar, Flora*, cocoa, flour (rice, potato, tapioca, maize, buckwheat), water, vanilla extract, baking powder, xanthan gum, salt
*Flora: plant oils (rapeseed, certified sustainable palm, sunflower, linseed), water, salt, sunflower lecithin, fava bean protein, natural flavourings, vitamins A&D
Regarding food allergies and intolerances
Every effort is made to avoid cross contamination of ingredients and products. However, this kitchen also produces a range of foods that include nuts and other potential allergens.

Probably the best brownies I have ever tried and a lovely surprise. Gluten free brownies can sometimes be so dry but these were rich and moist. Beautifully presented and so yummy. The Ultimate Bake Box arrived on Friday, as promised. The postman knocked on the door to hand over the box rather than push it through the letterbox. The packaging was sturdy, and the cakes arrived undamaged. The unfussy, clean lines of the recyclable packaging was visually appealing. A lot of thought has obviously gone into the design and the arrangement of the cakes in the box.
The cakes were absolutely gorgeous. Nine slices to share between three was just right. I managed to taste all of them, with the exception of the Chocolate Orange Brownie which mysteriously disappeared rather quickly! My particular favourite has to be the Raspberry and Coconut Jam Sandwich, although they were all delicious. I also enjoyed the delicate flavour of the Lavender Shortbread.
I very much appreciated the list of ingredients, and the use of as few ingredients as possible. I have a chronic illness which makes me intolerant to a wide range of factors, including smells and certain foodstuffs, and particularly processed items. I am delighted to say that I did not experience any problems with your cakes at all. In fact, they were divine, and I was able to savour the taste.
I will definitely order from you again, and would not hesitate to recommend your cakes.
